The K Family | Capitol Hill DC Family Photographer

If my life’s path hadn’t guided me to photography, my hope is that whatever I would have been doing would have involved children. Sweet M and A, and their parents, were just the most darling and charming as we wandered their Capitol Hill neighborhood taking photos on a chilly, late fall morning. One of the things I’ve learned about photographing children is that everyone has to get on their train. They require patience and a sense of humor, two things I thankfully have in spades. When you go in with that, you might just get lucky and get images like these that feel intimate yet full of personality.

  • Your bridal party squad doesn't need to be huge (or even be a thing!). Surround yourself with people who love you and it will be okay.
  • Thankful to call this mama a friend. Extra thankful that she helped create this ridiculously cute baby that I get to snuggle. This job? Not without its perks, guys.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • For two years I've been photographing students at an alternative high school here in DC. I always ask the students what their plans are and get so encouraged and inspired by them - it is NEVER too late to chase your dreams.
  • So much of this job is about trust. Trusting that I know when I ask you to do something, there is both rhyme and reason behind it. Trust means we make magic like this ❤️
  • I. Love. My. Job. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Mariel was the happiest and most beautiful bride. You'd honestly never know that it was like 7000 degrees on their wedding day. #bride #weddingdress #dcbride #washingtondcphotographer
  • Hope to one day be this level of cool.
  • Never going to get over how beautiful this girl is.
